Our Trustees

Our trustees are as follows:

Paul Nicholson - Chair of Trustees

Paul has over 40 years’ experience working with and supporting pupils, teachers and governors. He started teaching in 1974 after completing a degree in Education at Birmingham University and was a successful primary teacher with over 20 years classroom experience, including eight years as a Deputy Headteacher. He also supported, as interim Headteacher, a number of primary schools facing challenging circumstances and through a clear focus on teaching and learning successfully brought about the required improvements to raise standards. Paul worked in a number of local authority roles supporting schools in the Midlands, including being an Assistant Education Officer for Special Needs. He served as a registered inspector for Ofsted for over 10 years and led over 100 primary school inspections.

Dr Robert Harris, CSci, FRSB, FIBMS, PGCE  

Robert has over 35 years’ experience in NHS and Higher Education settings. In Nottingham, he Initiated and developed the laboratory aspects of the Regional Bone Marrow Transplant Service and worked as tutor and examiner on the University of Trent Biomedical Sciences course. Later he became Senior Chief Biomedical Scientist and Laboratory Manager at the Academic Department of Haematology, University of Liverpool. On promotion to Laboratory Manager School of Cancer Studies, and shortly thereafter to Technical Director Institute of Translational Medicine, he sat on a number of key advisory and governance groups.

With a PhD, Robert has more than 35 science publications to his name and currently sits on three Project Control Groups for the design, procurement and delivery of major builds related to hospitals and medical research facilities. Robert is a Specialist Lecturer (HNC-BSc), course tutor and examiner at Liverpool John Moore’s University. He is both a Whixall Parish Councillor and Chairman of Whixall History Group.

Bridget Hodges - Diocesan Board of Education representative

Bridget has recently retired from teaching after a career of almost 40 years. During this time, she taught throughout the primary age range but her heart was always in early years. Bridget co-ordinated a 120 place school nursery and worked as a support for private nursery providers before moving to a large infant school as Foundation manager, with responsibility for up to 230 children. She was appointed Deputy Head and held responsibility for school Safeguarding before her retirement. Bridget is passionate about ensuring that young children learn through play and have access to quality indoor and outdoor environments that support their learning. She is currently a Governor at Prees Primary School.

Neale Sadler

Neale has over 25 years’ experience as a Shropshire dairy farmer, pioneering the use of dairy technology and robotics. He has also been a front-runner in the production a2 milk for people with food intolerances and has spoken at conferences on these subjects in Rotterdam (NL) and London. Neale is Branch Chairman of the local NFU group and sits on the West Midlands Regional Dairy Board. He is a member of the Millennium Farmers buying group, which has a turnover of £4 million per year, and was Chairman in 1997. Neale served as Chairman of the Shropshire and West Midland Agricultural Society from 2011-2014 during which the society returned to profitable status. He remains a trustee and is currently Show Chairman. He has been a Governor at Whixall School for the last six years; sits on the Finance Committee and is Chair of the Health and Safety Committee.

Med Evans

Med Evans has over 30 years experience in the Financial Services sector and over 20 years running Darwin Wealth Management, a business based in Shrewsbury Shropshire. Med also sits on the Benchmark Capital advisory board based in London and is a local Parish councillor in Whixall. He is a family man with three children all schooled locally.

Robert Harrison

Rob has over 40 years experience working in the FE Sector, undertaking various posts from Lecturer to Executive Manager/Consultant, specialising in MIS and IT Systems Management.
